Jo\u0101o Pedro Stedile, een van de nationale directeuren van de Braziliaanse Landloze Arbeidersbeweging (MST) geeft een analyse van de situatie in Brazili\u00eb en de krachten die voormalig president Lula steunen.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n
De huidige crisis heeft de historische belangen van de bourgeoisie aangetast. Om u een idee te geven: in de afgelopen zes jaar zijn 28.000 industrie\u00ebn gesloten, ik heb het niet over restaurants of kleine bars, maar 28.000 industrie\u00ebn. Ik denk dat in Argentini\u00eb en Colombia alleen al zoveel industrie is als in Brazili\u00eb gesloten is. De milieucrisis heeft de agro-industrie van de bourgeoisie aangetast, de productiviteit, want hier in S\u00e3o Paulo zijn we afhankelijk van de regen die uit het Amazonegebied komt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Ook in de politiek maakt de bourgeoisie zich zorgen, omdat zij historisch gezien een staat nodig heeft die stabiliteit garandeert en haar beschermt tegen sociale conflicten. Het spook dat hen achtervolgt is de mogelijkheid van een sociaal conflict, maar de huidige politieke crisis heeft het sociale conflict alleen maar verdiept, er is geen oplossing en dat weten ze. Dus als je kijkt naar wat ze zeggen in hun media is dat er na vier jaar crisis een sociale stuiptrekking zal zijn, en niemand weet hoe dat zal uitpakken. Zelfs links heeft niet de capaciteit om al die mensen te organiseren.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Wat is er dit jaar veranderd in Brazili\u00eb? De klassen hebben hun politieke standpunten veranderd. De bourgeoisie die ooit eensgezind optrok en ons vier staatsgrepen bezorgde, is nu verdeeld, dankzij god en de tegenstellingen in de klassenstrijd. Een klein deel van de bourgeoisie staat achter Bolsonaro, maar zij vertegenwoordigen niet langer de meerderheid die hem vroeger steunde en financierde met twee enorme servers die 80 miljoen nepnieuwsberichten per uur afvuurden. Die campagne was een fakenewsstorm die gericht was op de hoofden van de armen. Een deel van die middelen kwam van de campagne van Donald Trump die niet meer aan de macht is. Later werd ontdekt dat van de twee servers die dit nepnieuws afvuurden, de ene in Isra\u00ebl stond en de andere in Taiwan, dat waren de banden van Bolsonaro met extreem-rechts, en die zijn er nu niet meer voor hem.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Een groot deel van de bourgeoisie probeerde een derde weg te bouwen, Bolsonaro noch Lula, maar wat gebeurde er? Hun partijen en leiders konden de bourgeoisie niet verenigen, als ze dat hadden gedaan dan zouden ze deze verkiezingen winnen, omdat ze alle economische en media macht hebben. Zij zouden erin geslaagd zijn een psychopaat in het presidentschap te zetten.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Ik ben ervan overtuigd dat de meerderheid van de bourgeoisie nu achter Lula staat. Dinsdag hield Lula een diner met de 100 grootste zakenlieden van Brazili\u00eb, dit zijn de mensen die het BBP van het land controleren. Er zijn 200 zakenlieden die het BBP controleren, slechts 200 omdat het kapitaal hier zeer geconcentreerd is, ongeveer de helft van hen heeft banden met internationaal kapitaal en banken. Van die 200 hebben er 100 met Lula gedineerd en hem toegejuicht. Dat betekent dat de door deze mensen gecontroleerde economische en mediamacht zich tegen Bolsonaro keert.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Middenklasse en arbeidersklasse<\/h3>\n\n\n\n
De middenklasse steunde ook de vier staatsgrepen in dit land, zij hebben extreem reactionaire opvattingen. Nu staat ongeveer 90% van de middenklasse achter Lula, deze mensen waren de eersten die overstapten van Bolsonaro naar Lula. We kunnen dit zien in de culturele uitingen van de middenklasse jongeren, u heeft het “Rocking Rio” festival gezien waar kaartjes 80 USD kosten. Elke avond waren er 200.000 jongeren, elke avond zongen ze “Bolsonaro out, viva Lula”. De middenklasse alleen is niet erg machtig omdat ze maar ongeveer 8% van de bevolking uitmaken, maar ze hebben veel invloed op de arbeidersklasse, vergeet niet dat Brazili\u00eb het land is met het op twee na hoogste aantal huishoudelijke hulpen, er zijn er 8 miljoen. Zij worden sterk be\u00efnvloed door wat hun werkgevers zeggen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Onder de arbeidersklasse is er ook een verandering. De arbeidersklasse kwam niet naar buiten om Dilma te verdedigen [tijdens de staatsgreep], het waren alleen wij militanten die mobiliseerden, ongeveer 50.000 mensen. Ondertussen mobiliseerde de middenklasse een half miljoen in de marsen tegen Dilma. Dat komt omdat de arbeiders op dat moment de gevolgen van de crisis ondervonden, maar noch Dilma, noch de PT, noch de MST, waren in staat uit te leggen dat de crisis een crisis van het kapitalisme was, niet van de regering. Natuurlijk maakte Dilma de fout door te proberen met de kapitalisten mee te regeren in plaats van ze te bestrijden, dat was haar ondergang. Haar minister van economie was Joaquim Levy, opgedrongen door de Banco Bradesco en het IMF om de belangen van het internationale financi\u00eble kapitaal te behartigen. Hij was Dilma’s minister. Maar nu staat de arbeidersklasse, via haar partijen en vakbonden, helemaal achter Lula.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Deze nieuwe krachtsverhouding heeft ons in staat gesteld de situatie te analyseren en te zeggen: ja, wij gaan deze verkiezingen winnen. De sociale kracht van de 3 klassen staat achter Lula. In de afgelopen week komt de kracht van die sociale kracht eindelijk tot uiting in de peilingen. Lula staat nu 7 punten voor op Bolsonaro, dus we kunnen zeggen dat we wiskundig gezien vrij zeker zijn dat Lula in de eerste ronde zal winnen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Dus ik denk dat we maandag bijeen moeten komen om een analyse te maken, of ik denk dat we alle Malbecs kunnen drinken die de Argentijnen ons gebracht hebben!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The current crisis has affected the historic interests of the bourgeoisie. To give you an idea, during the past six years 28,000 industries have closed down, I\u2019m not talking about restaurants or small bars, but 28000 industries. I think only Argentina and Colombia have as much total industry as that which they\u2019ve closed in Brazil. The environmental crisis has affected the agribusiness of the bourgeoisie, it has affected productivity because here in S\u00e3o Paulo we depend on the rain that comes from the Amazon, it has affected the production of cane, of orange, which are the two principal agricultural products of this state.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In politics as well, the bourgeoisie is worried because historically they need a state that can guarantee stability and protect them from social conflict. The ghost that haunts them is the possibility of social conflict, but the current political crisis has only deepened social conflict, there is no solution and they know it. So if you look at what they\u2019re saying in their media is that after four years of crisis there will be a social convulsion, and nobody knows how that will turn out. Not even the left has the capacity to organize all those people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
What has changed in Brazil this year? The classes have changed their political positions. The bourgeoisie that once marched united and gave us four coups is now divided, thanks to god and to the contradictions in the class struggle. A small part of the bourgeoisie is with Bolsonaro, but they no longer represent the majority who used to support him and financed him with two huge servers firing out 80 million fake news messages per hour. That campaign was a hurricane aimed at the heads of the poor. Some of those resources came from the campaign of Donald Trump who\u2019s no longer in power. It was discovered later that of the two servers that fired out this fake news, one was in Israel and the other in Taiwan, those were Bolsonaro\u2019s links with the extreme right, and now they aren\u2019t there for him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A large part of the bourgeoisie tried to build a third way, neither Bolsonaro nor Lula, but what happened? Their parties and leaders couldn\u2019t unify the bourgeoisie, if they had then they would win these elections, because they have all the economic and media power, they managed to put a psychopath in the presidency.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I\u2019m convinced that the majority of the bourgeoisie are now with Lula. On Tuesday, Lula held a dinner with the 100 biggest businessman of Brazil, these are the people that control the country\u2019s GDP. There are 200 businessmen that control the GDP, only 200 because capital is very concentrated here, about half of them are connected to international capital and banks. Out of those 200, 100 of them had dinner with Lula and applauded him. That means that the economic and media power controlled by these people is turning against Bolsonaro.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Middle class and working class<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The middle class also supported the four coups in this country, they have extremely reactionary views. Now, around 90% of the middle class is with Lula, these people were the first to migrate from supporting Bolsonaro to supporting Lula. We can see this in the cultural expressions of the middle-class youth, you will have seen the \u2018Rocking Rio\u2019 festival where tickets cost 80 USD. Every night there were 200,000 young people, every night they were chanting \u2018Bolsonaro out, viva Lula\u2019. The middle class alone is not very powerful because they\u2019re only about 8% of the population, but they have a lot of influence on the working class, remember that Brazil is the country with the 3rd highest number of domestic servants, there\u2019s 8 million of them. They are very influenced by what their employers say.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Among the working class there has also been a change. The working class didn\u2019t come out to defend Dilma [during the coup], it was only us militants who mobilized, around 50,000 people. Meanwhile, the middle class mobilized half a million in the marches against Dilma. That\u2019s because workers were suffering the effects of the crisis at the time, but neither Dilma, nor the PT, nor the MST, were able to explain that the crisis was a crisis of capitalism, not the government. Of course, Dilma made the mistake of trying to govern with the capitalists instead of combating them, that was her undoing. Her economy minister was Joaquim Levy, imposed by the Banco Bradesco and the IMF to look out for the interests of international finance capital. He was Dilma\u2019s Minister. However, now, the working class, through its parties and unions, are all with Lula.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This new correlation of forces has allowed us to analyze the situation and say that yes, we are going to win these elections. The social power of the 3 classes is with Lula. In the past week, the strength of that social force is finally being reflected in the polls. Lula is now 7 points ahead of Bolsonaro, so we can say that mathematically, we\u2019re pretty sure that Lula will win in the first round.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
So I think we should meet on Monday to do an analysis, or I guess we could drink all the Malbecs that the Argentinians have brought us!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
